How FoodEverest earns money from affiliate links, including the Amazon Associates Program, and what that means for you as a reader.

In short: FoodEverest is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links - if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the price you pay, and it never determines which meals rank highest in our comparisons; rankings are generated from the underlying data (calories, protein, weight, price), not from commission rates.
Why we're telling you this
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires anyone who publishes affiliate or sponsored links to clearly disclose that relationship to readers. The Amazon Associates Program has the same requirement as a condition of participation, and can suspend or terminate an account that doesn't disclose properly. This page is that disclosure, in full - the short version also appears near affiliate links and in the site footer.
What counts as an affiliate link on FoodEverest
When you click through to a retailer or brand site from a meal, product, or "our pick" callout on FoodEverest, that link may be tagged with an affiliate or referral code. The retailer's own site then may set a tracking cookie in your browser. If you complete a qualifying purchase within that program's tracking window, we receive a small commission from the retailer or affiliate network - not from you, and not added to your price.
Current status (as of 2026-08-24): FoodEverest is an Amazon Associate. 77 of the 284 meals in our database link out to a matching product on Amazon (only where we have confirmed the exact product is currently buyable there - not every brand or meal has one), and if you buy something after clicking one of those links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Brand-direct product links (the links that go straight to a manufacturer's own site, like mountainhouse.com) earn us nothing today: those affiliate programs are believed to exist for some brands (for example AvantLink, which we believe carries programs for Mountain House and Good To-Go, and Collabs, which we believe carries one for Backpacker's Pantry) but applications for them are blocked on the site being deployed, so we have not yet applied to any of them. Not every brand or meal we mention is available on Amazon or part of any affiliate relationship - we link to brands' own pages regardless, and only earn a commission on the specific links marked as such. What this doesn't change
- You never pay more because you used our link. Commissions come out of the retailer's marketing budget, not your wallet.
- Our comparisons and rankings are built from the meal database (calories per ounce, protein, net weight, price), not from which program pays the highest commission.
- We link to a brand's own product page even when no affiliate relationship exists for that brand yet.

Prices, stock, and specifications shown on FoodEverest are captured on the date noted on each page and are not live. Always confirm current price and availability on the retailer's page before buying.
